What's Happening!

It's Finished!  The wedding quilt for my nephew and his new bride is totally finished and will soon be on its way from me in Nova Scotia to them in Alberta.  I quilted it in free motion on my Pfaff Powerquilter 16.0 using Aurifil 50# white thread.  In the negative space between the columns of colour, I quilted a continuous feather, 90" in height to be exact x 4.  In the outer edge spaces I quilted loop de loops with hearts.  In some of the hearts I quilted the newlyweds initials.

And here's the back with all the best wishes and signatures by the wedding guests.

This is the bottom row before quilting so you can see some of the best wishes.

Don't the quilt colours match the wedding in the Rockies perfectly! Almost like it was planned!

It was a fantastic wedding and I enjoyed my ten days in Alberta so much.  Spent quality time with family, visited Calgary and Edmonton and Canmore, visited 9 quilt shops and bought something in each one.  What a great time I had.

Now I am on to making baby quilts and accessories.  One new great-niece and another great-soon to be determined on the way next month.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends and family.

  13. That quilt is so pretty! I've made it too - Wiggle Me Colourful - using all scraps with a white background. I too quilted feathers, modern ones, in those long columns of white. Love seeing how another quilter interprets the same pattern. It's just lovely!
