Progress report - "Spoola Pink"

I am making progress in dealing with the three panels that I made with the Tula Pink "Eden" leftover fabrics.  I dealt with the green panel like this.  Next up was the pink panel.  Here is what I have ended up making.  I was inspired by a spool sampler made by my friend, Sheila @ Sheila's Quilt World. You can see her quilt in the bottom right hand corner of her blog header picture.
I thought that my panel would make an awesome
variegated thread-looking spool block.  Then I thought, I adore Aurifil thread, so I will make a spool to mimic an Aurfil #50 wt spool, my fave!  I started cutting 2 1/2 inch strips in two different grey solids and some orange and sewed like crazy to complete this cute wallhanging for my sewing room.  It measures 50" x 53".

I am calling this  "Spoola Pink"

Now on to the purple panel!  Stay tuned!
Hope you got time today to do something quilty.
