First Finish of the New Year!

I started my blog in February of 2008 and I am just getting around to making a separate page for my yearly finishes.  I have had it on my mind to do this over the past years but just never got around to it.  Better late than never, I guess.

My first finish for 2019 is a cushion that I made for a sweet little great niece who is almost 16 months old now.

For the lettering, I used the paper pieced pattern "Alpha Cube" by SugarFreeQuilts.  This pattern has only lower case letters so I made my own Capital "G".

I made the cushion from the scraps of her first quilt..a Giant Gingham baby quilt.,

I free motion quilted the cushion using a luscious pink thread..a Wonderfil Konfetti 50# in colour KT308 in the pink squares and used Aurifil 50# white in the white areas.  The cushion measures 16" x 16".  I added a lovely piece of grosgrain ribbon as an added touch on the back.

I am now working on free motion quilting a larger quilt so hopefully I will have another finish soon.

How about you?  Are you finishing up something today? 😊
