Then it was back to the 5 quilt tops. First up, a juvenile quilt for my lovely little guild's yearly charity project. This year we are making quilts for the IWK Hospital for Children in Halifax. We chose the square-in-a-square block to use to make our quilts. Mine measures 48" x 64". I quilted it in free motion on my Pfaff PowerQuilter 16.0 I used Aurifil 50wt #2024 (white) to quilt the fmq wavy lines.
Then on to my Tula Pink Project - the Tula Trio! Numbers 2, 3 and 4. A while back, I bought a half metre cut of each of the designs in the entire line of "Eden". My first creation from this purchase was "Breaking Away", an original design by ME, which was completed in November of 2015.
here's the back...
I cut the remainder of the 1/2 metres into 2 1/2" strips and made these....
Then from these colour slabs of the leftover strips, I made three more quilts......first, from the pink slab....."SPOOLA PINK" an original design by ME
Measures 52" x 49" quilted in free motion on my Pfaff QE 4.0 using Aurifil (of course) thread #3660 50wt and a Superior Titantium Topstitch needle size 80/12. Background fabrics used are Kona Coal, Titanium and Graphite. On the Back..."Painted Lace" from Fox Field by Tula Pink
From the Purple Slab.... "LOTS OF Ls" an original design by ME

Today is our 39th anniversary so we took the quilts to York Redoubt to get some shots. Mike loves big guns. He was a weapons tech in the Canadian Navy for almost 40 years.
The harbour views are just beyond amazing. A wonderful place to take a lunch and just enjoy the day and there is no admission charge. It was fun to walk around the site to look for interesting spots to take photos.
