The prize was a $75.00 gift certificate from one of the sponsors of the challenge, Mad About Patchwork. I immediately set about scouring their online shop to spend my winnings. This fat quarter pack of 18 amazing fabrics from Alison Glass' line called "Handmade" jumped out at me. I had recently spied a quilt online that was made with these fabrics and fell in love. Funny thing is, until I opened the parcel, I didn't realize that these fabrics are batiks! Beautiful hand... soft, drapey, modern batiks. I can't wait to get working with them. Ideas are a-swirling!
This colour palette reminded me of Quality Street candies...another love of mine.
For the past few days I have been heavily into sorting out my "Scrash" (scrap stash) More on that for next time.
Hope you are recovered from the Christmas hubbub and, like me, looking forward to all the quilts we will make in 2015.
