Taking it easy on "Easy Street"

Not the best photo because my larger design wall is in a hallway so photos are taken at an angle because there is not enough room to get a shot full on.

I quickly did the math  -  2,377 pieces in this design
I spent the last week working on getting the blocks and setting triangles sewn together for my "Easy Street".  What a lot of sewing.  But still more sewing to do to get this quilt top completed.  I still have to sew the blocks into rows and that will probably take me a few days. And then on to the borders.  In the pic below you will see what I have chosen.  I like how the black solid pulls out the white w/black background fabrics.  As far as how I will quilt this large quilt, well, I am not sure yet.  It usually takes me a while to decide on how to quilt each quilt I make.  But whatever I decide, I know I will love it!  I have discovered that with my quilting,  I only do what makes me happy...how about you?

My border option.

I have started another mystery quilt!  I know, I know....but that's how I roll.  I signed up to follow Darlene @ Quilts by Darlene (a Nova Scotia quilty girl, like me) as she gives a clue on the first Friday of the month for about the next eight months.   It will be a border quilt mystery. Love it!  The first step is the centre, which are snowball blocks, 30 of them, 4 1/2". Then each row after this will be a different border style. Here is how Darlene's centre looks. I am using a charm pack called " Simple Abundance" for my centre.  Very subdued colours..quite the opposite of Easy Street.    This will be fun!
