Hangin' in there!

Things have been crazy around here since Aug. 21.  My beautiful 88 year old Dad took a stroke and our world was turned upside down.  Things have improved and he is home now and doing well but I had the proverbial ---- kicked out of me.  But I am now back at it.  My quilty life is so important to me and I miss it so much when I am away.  My Quilty Sister is home from Qatar for a visit, thankfully she was with Dad when he stroked and was able to get him instant help.

Between her and I, we squeezed out some time and  made a little quilt for our niece's future baby boy.

I have been working on a special project that is due next Thursday at my lovely little guild's monthly meeting.  It is a mini quilt challenge.  My partner is Miss Valerie of Purple Boots and Pigtails. I knew instantly what I wanted to make for her and set to work.  I hope she enjoys it as much as I do.  I know she will, what am I saying!  Can't show you or I will ruin the surprise but it won't be long until the reveal.

The next two months will be very busy with quilty things.  Stay tuned!

Hope you had time to do something quilty today!

  1. Did a little quilty business late in the afternoon, but have been taking advantage of the lovely stretch of weather we have been having and went for a little paddle today. Glad your dad is continuing to improve and you are back at your machine. I just love that baby quilt, and I KNOW Miss Valerie is going to love her swap! XO

  7. Oh no Linda! I am so sorry about your Dad! It's so scary when this turn so quickly, the kind of news that kick you in the belly & takes your breath away. I am so very glad to know he's getting back on track and that help was quick. In a rural area that is not something we take for granted.

I can't wait to see my wee quilt...and I can't wait to give you yours. I hope you'll love it as much as I loved making it! Just 6 more sleeps!
