I have been very busy since my last post. I spent Thursday and Friday in Amherst enjoying the 6th annual Nova Scotia Fibre Arts Festival. Saturday was a pot-luck afternoon get-together of cousins, aunts and uncles on my father's side of the family. Today was spent with my parents as we celebrated their 62nd wedding annivrsary.

The lighting was poor so I didnt get as many photos as I had hoped plus there was just too much happening. Plus I was a bit overexcited. I tend to do that.
I really didnt get to do everything I wanted, so I will plan better for next year. I really want to take a workshop or two. Now that my niece is living there, I have a place to stay and enjoy. If you get a chance to visit Amherst during Festival Week, I highly suggest that you do. Oh, I almost forgot...The Zonta Bazaar was amazing. There was so much to see and buy. A wool lover's heaven. Lots of vendors.
I spent all the money I had saved especially for this trip. The new quilt shop in town,
Mrs P's Emporium, was just lovely. I found the Fairy Frost and Mirror Ball Dot fat quarters that I had wanted as well as a few other things on my list. At
Dayle's. I found the fabric I wanted for pillowcases I am making for my niece. I had an amazing time. AMHERST is AWESOME! Had to stop at
It's Sew Time on the drive home...found the perfect tan batiks I have been looking for.
After all the new inspiration I really need to get sewing!

ReplyDeleteHow lucky you were able to combine your parents anniversary with the Fibre Arts Festival!! Some things are just meant to be. Some of those quilts really call my name. Glad you had such a fun time and shared with all of us!
ReplyDeleteI really wanted to go into Mrs. P’s but she was closed for supper and the sun was going down and I am no longer a comfortable night driver. Didn’t you love how Quilt Expressions draped their quilts over two pews so you could get a really good look at each quilt! And the Bazaar was amazing - a wool lovers feast for sure. I think that NOW you are enjoying retirement! lol My niece lives in Elmsdale/Enfield area and I haven’t been able to find that shop since they moved but we always stop at Cafe Soule. Amazing food and lovely people!
