My First Commission! (I call it a Gift)

My son insists that this wallhanging I am making for him is a commission....but I know better....It's a Gift!!  This will hang over his sofa in his bachelor pad.  I am making this up as I go along and have no idea how it will finish. I thought I would give a sneak peek. Also, I would like suggestions on thread colour to use for FMQ. The black is Papillon cotton and the yellow small strips are hand dyed by me and the rest is batiks.

  1. I love it too! Have you considered a nice variegated thread with colours similar to the fabrics you used? I've quilted with Sulky variegated and liked it very much.

  2. I tend to love bright colors. I would go with a variegated thread to match your fabrics. I like King Tut by Superior Threads.

  3. That's a striking wallhanging, Linda and would look great with variegated thread - or how about a metallic?
Aren't you just loving this snow - I just started a supper casserole to have on hand in case the power goes out - can heat it up on the woodstove......
