OK, Maybe I can't focus on one quilty thing at a time...but I tried!!

In my last post I was so proud of myself for sticking with one quilty thing for a whole week and not getting off track and starting other projects. It was nice while it lasted!! For the past two weeks I have been sewing like crazy. I now have three more UFOs...I decided to try to make "Crown Jewels" an X-block quilt. I call mine "Crown Jewel Tones" as well as a few other assorted not-nice words. Spent days cutting and sewing only to have the pieced border not fit and no way to fix it. The border is what attracted me to this quilt. Anyway, I am not going to spend anymore time on it and just add a plain border and be done with it. I dont discourage you from trying it, the mistakes were mine. It is a beautiful quilt. During this time I also FMQ'd my "Christmas Farrago". It turned out awesome!. I used Invisafil thread for the first time (Thank You Karen) and once I got the tension properly adjusted (1.2) and the proper size needle(10 universal) it sewed like a dream. This thread is beautiful. I used a dark red on the darker fabrics and a white on the white. I used a red Gutterman in the bobbin because I wanted the thread to match the solid red Papillon Cotton I used for a backing. I just have to bind it and its done!! Ready to give to Mother for her 79th birthday soon.

Then I started to make a Baby Trip Around the World for a friends little one. Got it all cut out and started to sew the first row together and decided to try Bonnie Hunter's Leader and Ender system to use up the scraps from my last few projects. After two L/E's were sewn I abandoned the baby quilt and make crazy blocks..OMG..that was two days ago and I have 12 completed. Still tons of scraps leftover. I loved loved loved making these blocks.
So today I need to get back to the baby quilt and sew the binding on my Farrago.
