Bring it on, 2018!

As promised, here are the last photos of my 2017 projects.  I am very lucky to be able to sew whenever I want .  Life is good!

Here are two cushions I made a few days ago.  A gift for an admirer of bears and foxes.  They measure 14" x 20".  I made the black piping for the edges. It adds a lovely finishing touch.

A cute Dear Stella fabric on the back

A tree skirt for my brother and his wife.  I used a 10 degree wedge ruler to cut the 36 wedges from 24" strip sets and then sewed them together to make a circle. easy peasy.  Then I quilted in the ditch (not my fave), added binding and done.  A fun, quick project.  I have requests for two more for next year.

A stocking for a baby's first Christmas.

and the back...

And I made a tuffet!  I used some special batiks that my sister brought me from Malaysia several years ago.  I won't say it was easy but I am happy with the result.  I plan on making another one.

some paperpiecing fun

My plan for 2018 is to get a few of my older pieced tops quilted, but I said that was on the top of my 2017 list and it did not happen so I am only a little bit hopeful.

Merry Christmas to you and yours and all my best in 2018. 🎄

  1. What beautiful eye candy to share with us! You have been a busy sewist and your gifts will be appreciated and treasured for years to come! I am a bit (OK, a whole lot) jealous because I haven't even entered my sewing room all month!

  3. Lovely projects! I like how the tree skirt is serene and understated in those pretty blues. And the tuffet was worth the trouble, I think!

  6. Wow! Another wonderful post with beautiful projects! I love the elephant! All your projects are so gorgeous! I know it's difficult to get into the mood to do those quilt tops that have long been forgotten. At least the ones that you have lost interest in are great for practice pieces for new free motion quilting designs ;)
