I need a tablerunner for my outdoor table and these colours just said spring/summer to me. I have a pattern from a few years and I figured I would give it a go with all these yummy fabric scraps. Now my tablerunner will be ready to use soon as the outdoor furniture goes back on the deck in the spring. I have lots of time to get it quilted.
The pattern I used is called "Cherry Pickin'" by Brenda/Barb Designs. I omitted the appliqued cherries.
The floral fabric that I fussy-cut for the centre 6 1/2" square is "Zinnia Garden" by Patty Young. I have been hoarding a metre of this beauty for two years and decided it was time to cut into it.
Another scrappy project.....Selvedges from African fabrics were given to me, so I sewed them together in colour sets and then cut squares from those sets. raw-edge appliqued them to the background square, a little straight line quilting and Boom! a throw cushion.
For the back, envelope style with a selvedge strip sewn to the overlap edge. tuck in a pillow form, Done!
I adore my scraps and selvedges so much.
Hope you have time to make something today. Thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteFabulous projects! The colors in your runner are amazing! I need to get into my solids scrap bin too. I can't get the top on anymore :(

ReplyDeleteLove the scrappy table runner, perfect for a sunny summer day.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely scrappiness on your post today! I love my scraps too - just as much as the yardage on my shelves :) And I get so tickled when I find something neat to make with selvedges! I may have to try to make a cute pillow like that from mine!
