A great day!

What a great day!  Canada beat the U.S. in Men's Hockey and will play Sweden for the Gold Medal on Sunday.  Everyone is so excited!   The temperature is above zero and the highway is nice and clear, so off I went to visit my favourite local quilt store It's Sew Time.  I should have really been staying home to sew the binding on my son's "Felt Quilt",   but I needed a fabric fix and tomorrow is the last day of the 20% of everything sale and since tomorrow I will be happily, busily sewing away at the MMQG's sew-in, it was today or never.
did straight-line quilting  in "comforter syle".  It weighs a ton... pieced flannel top, cotton batting, and a pieced flannel backing. I showed it to my son yesterday and he really liked it, turned out just like he was hoping.  He's happy, now that he has a duplicate of his favourite quilt that was totally worn to death.  So very worth all the cursing and wrangling I did.

This will be my "Plan B" fabric for my KnittySister's totebag if I can't find the fabric I have my heart set on using.  It probably doesn't exist.  It would be just like this doggie newspaper print except all about Knitting.

I adore Michael Miller fabrics so this light pink Fairy Frost had to come home with me.  Found it in the sale bin!

Another lovely I found in the sale bin...I think this would work for a Spring themed postcard swap!  April showers.

This wasn't in the sale bin but still a great price...too cute to leave in the shop..love the little birds

Had to add a few coordinates.

My first layer cake.....my fave Riley Blake fabric line ..Sidewalks.

a wonderful green Kona...forget the name

I had saved up a cupful of loonies and twoonies that are earmarked for days like today.

  3. Oh, Scrapmaster, you are in so much trouble! How could you not let your MMQG pals know about a 20% sale at a LQS? We may have to revoke your membership. :) Great finds today!

  4. LOVE your son's quilt!! He's a lucky guy. I should try saving toonies/loonies in a cup. It might have helped pay for my trip to It's Sew Time, this week. Looking forward to seeing what you do with your new fabrics.

I three wish we lived closer, but I know we'll get to gether during the summer and fall. I'll start saving my loonies and toonies, too! Love your son's 'felt' quilt. You've sure been busy and accomplishing so very much.
