5 Wonderful Blogging Years!

my very first post - Feb 6, 2008

On this day, five years ago, I made my first post on my blog, Scrapmaster. After re-reading my first post, I think I have kept on with "The Grand Plan", and then some!     I was brand new to computers at the time.  I have learned so much since then.  The quilty inspiration  in blogland is endless.  Sometimes, just overwhelming! I just do the best I can and try to put my personality into every quilt I make.

The whole cloth quilt on the bed in the photo was my first finish since starting my blog. It is called "Welsh Beauty". I started the handquilting it in 2005 and finished it  Feb 24 of 2008.  The photo is not good.  Wish I could get a better shot of it.   I used a shade of a darker  taupe  handquilting thread so the handquilting shows up very well in person.
The quilt hanging behind the bed is also handquilted by me,  mid-2011.
I love to wake in the morning surrounded by my quilts. Hanging a quilt behind the bed was Retired Hub's idea.    There are actually 3 quilts on my bed during the winter months.  Soooo cozy and warm.

Now for some fun.....I will be giving away a one metre cut of the Timeless Treasures tree fabric you see in the photo below.  I bought lots for myself too!

  7. Congratulations on 5 years. A great accomplishment. I have quilts surrounding me on the sofa where i usually site. can't have too many of them.

At present I think I follow about 140 blogs, though I do go through the list every few months and reduce those who have stopped posting, but then immediately I seem to add a few more.

  8. Good for you for sticking with it. And for learning. I love your quilts. As for blog following, the limit is 300 and that's what I usually have but there are times I go through and delete the ones that have given up blogging. I think I am following 298 right now.

  14. Congratulations on your 5 year blogiversary! I don't dare look at the number of blogs I follow but I'm pretty sure it's in the 300 range. I have to cut back though because it takes too much time! All you quilt bloggers and your inspiring work are too hard to resist, though! ARGHHHH!!!

  18. Congrats on your 5 years of blogging Linda. I 'follow' 21 blogs at present, but have in my Google reader another 22. Some days I find I'm reading so much that I only do a little sewing. But, I love reading what others are doing.

  19. How time does fly!! :) Ok, one of these days I'll count how many I follow - but just not tonight! I had 176 posts to read a bit ago and I really try to have all the posts read each day before going to bed...so...it's going to be a HIGH number. I love them and I'm always being told about another fabulous blog to check out which I do and then I have to add that one to the list also. It's a vicious circle!! lol
