Moving right along!

Another UFO complete! This is another 10+ years old project.  Nice to have it off the UFO pile.
I used Invisifil thread (except the border..there I used Konfetti)).

I started to rearrange and tidy my quilting room and in the middle of cleaning, I started a new project.  This fat quarter pack was screaming to  be opened and sewn up.   I used all the fabrics, except one, that was in the fat quarter pack and I also added a few others to make it all work.
Lobster Anyone?  (42 x 51)
I am making this little quilt for my 85 year old Dad.   He was a lobster fisherman in his younger days. He still gets to spend time in his boat, doing some fishing.  No more lobsters now, but I must say, we sure had our fill when we were kids.  Lobster all the time (during season of course)   Kinda got sick of it.  Of course, when relatives from other parts of Canada  come for a visit, out comes the lobster!  In August, every year, the tiny village where I grew up, puts on a lobster supper to raise money for the community.   300+ lobsters are cooked and served with steamed mussels, potato salad , coleslaw, a roll and homemade pies of all sorts,  all prepared by the locals. It's pretty amazing.

Hopefully, by next week, I will have my Great Granny Squares quilted and maybe even the lobster quilt. Fingers crossed.

I am linking up with The Needle and Thread Network.  Stop by and see what everyone is working on.

Love the finished piece! And the lobster quilt for your Dad. Would have loved to come to a community feast like that on the coast, I grew up on the prairies and my little town would do a perogies and pickeral dinner! (Near Lake Winnipeg)

What great projects. Isn't it a good feeling to finish up a UFO? I'm working my way through some of mine too. I'm sure your dad will love his lobster quilt.

Wow, you are getting a lot done! I love the lobster fabrics and the quilt! Your dad will surely appreciate it!
There are a lot of those granny squares going around . I think it makes a very pretty quilt. I made one regular one to try it. I may do a few for a baby quilt. There's nothing like a scrap quilt is there?
