I did all the quilting in freemotion except for the straight line in the beige strings. |
So here's my plan for working on UFOs....I have 20 full size quilt tops that are in need of completion..some are ready to be quilted and some still need borders. I wrote the name of each on a piece of paper and put them in a bag and then drew a name and then work on finishing that particular quilt. The first one drawn is RRCB (Roll, roll cotton boll - a Bonnie Hunter Mystery from 2010)! This one will be a challenge to FMQ because of the size and weight. I do love a challenge!
I am linking up to Work in Progress Wednesday at The Needle and Thread Network Lots of interesting blogs and I got a few new ideas.
I was counting tops ready for quilting and have at least 20 in waiting. I told my daughter that I am leaving them for my grandchildren. My kids are 18 and 15, so that's a long way off.
ReplyDeleteWonderful Linda , so nice to have such a great finish and now you can get on to the next one , wow 20 tops , that is a lot :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt! Congratulations on the finish! :0)
ReplyDeleteI do love the greens in this quilt. Good for you in having a system for getting your UFOs done. I think I would tend to work on the one that needs the least amount of work. Why not link this up with the http://needleandthreadnetwork.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely pattern and colour. You've done a great job on the quilting.

Those string quilts are a great way to make a dent in the stash -- tho sometimes I buy new fabric faster than I can use up the old stuff -- I don't think there is a solution for that problem tho...
ReplyDeleteGreat finish! I think I need to work on a system to get mine done too!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt! I like your system of choosing the next one. I'd try that but then I would have to make a list of them!

ReplyDeleteYour lovely quilt is a new take on string quilts - for me at least. I didn't know they could turn out so elegant. Thank you for sharing.
