My First Commission! (I call it a Gift)

My son insists that this wallhanging I am making for him is a commission....but I know better....It's a Gift!!  This will hang over his sofa in his bachelor pad.  I am making this up as I go along and have no idea how it will finish. I thought I would give a sneak peek. Also, I would like suggestions on thread colour to use for FMQ. The black is Papillon cotton and the yellow small strips are hand dyed by me and the rest is batiks.

    I love it too! Have you considered a nice variegated thread with colours similar to the fabrics you used? I've quilted with Sulky variegated and liked it very much.

    I tend to love bright colors. I would go with a variegated thread to match your fabrics. I like King Tut by Superior Threads.

    That's a striking wallhanging, Linda and would look great with variegated thread - or how about a metallic?
    Aren't you just loving this snow - I just started a supper casserole to have on hand in case the power goes out - can heat it up on the woodstove......
