Blogger's Quilt Festival - Original Design Category

It's time again for the Blogger's Quilt Festival hosted by
Amy @ Amy's Creative Side.   Don't you just love to check out all the quilts in each category and visit lots of blogs that are new-to-you?  I know I do. Voting starts in four days!   So, I decided to go that step further and enter a quilt.

I am entering "Lots of L's" in the Original Quilt Design category.  I am most proud of this quilt that I designed and made entirely by myself.  My free motion quilting was a lot more creative than anything I have done before.  I just went for broke and did what made me happy. And this quilt makes me super happy!

"Lots of L's" could stand for Linda or lavender or leftovers or all three!  The giant "L's" are leftover strips of Tula Pink's "Eden" line from another quilt project.  It measures 42" x 60" and I quilted it in freemotion on my Pfaff QE 4.0 using Aurifil 50wt thread in colour #2311 and a lovely purple Zwicky 50wt in colour #700.  I used a Superior Titantium topstitch needle size 80/12.  The background fabric is Kona Snow and the backing fabric is Kona Amethyst with a strip of Tula Pink's "Crouching Tiger" in amethyst.  The binding is Kona Bone.

Good luck to all entrants and thanks to Amy for all her hard organizing work over the past several years.

Hope you get time to do something quilty today!
