My great-nephew was born this past Nov. 24 and I was pretty excited to finally have a baby in our family to make quilts for and to sew up burp cloths and bibs etc. WooHoo! Knitty Sister is a Grandmother! I will make the quilts and she will make the afghans and sweater sets.
Here is a quilt I made for him. Giant Gingham. I saw it on Crafty Blossom's blog and made it from exactly the same fabrics that she used. My quilt is smaller. My blocks are 4 3/4" sq. because that is the size of the die for my Accuquilt cutter. I machine quilted 1/4" on either side of each seam line. The backing fabric is "Hilltop Gold Foxes" by Wee Gallery for Dear Stella. It also comes in navy, which is just gorgeous. Baby's nursery colours are grey and navy with yellow accent.
The cushion is a 16 1/2" square of "Buck Forest Mist" from Hello, Bear by Art Gallery. I appliqued a little scrap of the cute little raccoon fabric from the same line on top of a scrap of a lovely dark grey (not sure of the name) Thanks to my scrap-enabler Jeanette I get all the cutest modern scraps.
Be advised: This photo is staged. Our little darling doesn't sleep with all this in his crib.
The raccoon fabric is called "Oh, Hello Fog" too cute!
I showed this quilt on my blog before. It is made from the remnants of the Wedding Quilt I made for Baby's parents.

Next on the list...Big Butt Pants!
