What's Happening!

I have been cutting like crazy and now I am ready to start sewing up the blocks for my " Christmas Diamonds" quilt.  You can read about it here.
From the photo, it doesn't look like a lot of pieces, but there is almost 4 metres of Kona white and 17 fat quarters of assorted Christmas prints in this quilt.

I have all the pieces arranged and ready for some fun chain-piecing.  I made a sample block to make sure I end up with an 11 1/2" square.  The pieces are all precisely cut, no room for error in sewing. If I really pay attention with each addition I will probably not have to square up before joining all the blocks.
So far, so good.  and it doesn't feel weird working with Christmas fabrics because it is downright cold as December here!

I also designed, cut and sewed together the quilt top for my entry in the Modern Quilt Guild's Michael Miller Challenge.  I hope to get the quilting done soon too. I have a few quilting designs in mind and I need to settle on one. Think I will keep it under wraps until I am completely finished.  No sneaky peek either!

I am linking up with The Needle and Thread Network.  Stop by and check out how everyone is doing this week.
