Fun with Wool

With all the pincushion bloghopping  craziness going on this week in blogland, I thought I would show off one that I made today.   My friend, Sheila of Sheila's Quilt World, participated in the bloghop on Wednesday and showed us all her wonderful pincushions.  I was lucky enough to spend some quality quilty time with Sheila this past week and she was so generous in gifting me the wool fabrics to make the pincushion in the photo.  It was my first time working with wool and I just loved it. I made this cute little pincushion (4" x 6") entirely by hand.  I used a Loops and Threads perle cotton in a variegated brown for the buttonhole stitch and I also sewed on lots of black seed beads.  It will have a special place beside my sewing machine.  Thanks Sheila  You were right, working with wool fabric is wonderful! I will have to start collecting.

(I love pincushions.  Someday I will have to gather all my pincushions into one place and take a photo)
